Health Insurance
Health Insurance
Health Insurance comes in basically two types of benefits - (1) Medical Expense and (2) disability income. Both types deal with financial loss resulting from sickness or injury. Health Insurance may also provide dental benefits and various other kinds of health insurance coverages. Finally there is long term care or ( LTC ) coverage, this is one of the fastest growing areas of health insurance.
When you go to get Health Insurance your contract is generally written to cover not only the named insured, but also eligible family members. Infact many states insurance regulations specify that a health insurance policy may cover an individual or two or more eligible family members, including your spouse and dependent children under the age of nineteen.
Dependent that is attending school full-time?
Some states have increased the age limit on children to twenty-five if the children are attending school on a full time basis.
Adding Newborn Children to a Health Insurance Policy
Newborn children are automatically covered under any health insurance policy. The insurer must usually be notified of the birth within a short period of time, usually thirty days. A new premium is required the month directly following a child's birth.
